TBS/FOX TV MLB Deals

It was announced last summer that TBS will begin carrying games on Sunday afternoons beginning in 2007.

Does anyone know if this deal will be exclusive rights, meaning people can't watch other games?(similiar to the FOX Saturday TV Deal)

It is really frustrating to have the satellite technology to watch the Giants from my home in Missouri (thru MLB extra innings_package, but to have Bud Selig tell me I can't watch them on the weekends b/c he thinks it is more important for me to watch the Yankees and Red Sox.

It really pisses me off. I can watch baseball anytime I want, except on the weekends. Because Bud Selig says so. It was bad enough working my butt off all week only to be rewarded with not being able to watch my favorite team on a Saturday afternoon. Now Sundays are gone too?

We have the technology to watch our favorite team almost every game, but instead of marketing to true baseball fans, Selig has chosen to market to casual fans. He doesnt understand where his bread is buttered in my opinion. The reason the NFl has become so ppoular is b/c you can always see your team. Every Game. The only time a network has exclusive rights is when it is the ONLY game on.

It doesnt work that way in baseball. I understand having ONE game of the week. Now we have three games of the week. 2 in one day.

Geez.

Anyone else have similiar frustrations?

Fixing the blackout rules is something that should be at the top of Selig's list. It is complete and utter bullshit that when I or anyone else who is paying for the MLB Extra Innings package to get all the games, find the local games blacked out. I'm going to go to twenty-five to thirty games a year when I can regardless of whether you blackout the games on TV or not. When a local teams road game is blacked out to show the Saturday FOX game between the Yanks and Sox it is even more infuriating. Enough about the damn steroids already, which you'll never be able to properly police. Fix the blackout rules.

And yes, I share your frustration on this subject.

I find it funny the way blackouts effect Raiders fans out here. They pay $150 plus for on day a week, and they still can't watch their local team on the satellite.
