Opening thoughts

1. Someone tell me how to get rid of these facking emoticons before they trigger a psychotic episode.

2. It's great to see so many familiar names signing in. It's a compliment to the lot of you that so many people want to continue reading your posts.

3. It would be nice if we merged/assimilated with the people already here, but if not, then it's especially nice of them to set up this area for us.

4. Fack Khalil Greene.

Doyle, just use the quick reply thing at the bottom. You skip past the emoticons.
The color combo is here to stay I'm afraid. But I'm thinking the pros are outweighing the cons once I figure out the easiest way to navigate the threads.

Thanks for the heads up, and thank Bonds. I don't think I could have made it if constantly exposed to those emoticons.

I agree on the assimilation, and why I thought this "rubber room" was a horrible idea. No idea why it was even necessary, the traffic here is way less than ESPN, with no trolls.

hi and emoticon..i'm monkey..

someone did explain the quick reply on the bottom to not show the emoticons..

to answer 3 on your [sign in to see URL]'re welcome to post on all the forums, but for some of the old posters myself included it was as one of the other old posters said sort of like the first couple of days of [sign in to see URL]'re trying to learn new names and get a feel for everyone.

this forum is mostly for some of you to catch up and maybe see who's here with the check in thread.

and with 4 on your [sign in to see URL] him and his goofy half crack looking brother on the cards jeff weaver

[sign in to see URL] if you get confused at what i said just ask [sign in to see URL] might be able to answer you better than myself..

Hamels started toward the dugout after what he thought was a strike. Lincecum didn't get the call & buzzed ump Dana DeMuth w. a fastball that slammed off the backstop & then froze Hamels w. another 3rd strike. 4/28/10 Timmy the ump killer.

1. Someone tell me how to get rid of these facking emoticons before they trigger a psychotic episode.

Well the emoticons were an easy fix, but I fear amending the color scheme will take a bit more work. I think that a number of posters who came over from ESPN tend to post at both work and home. While at home the colors are just a bit tough on the eyes, at work they do not lend themselves to discrete posting or reading.

2. It's great to see so many familiar names signing in. It's a compliment to the lot of you that so many people want to continue reading your posts.

I was shocked to see how many made the trip over, and very happy that so many did make the trip. When I made my first visit here to throw up a trial balloon, I told merkin I thought he would see around 20 new members, give or take a few. That went out the window the first day. It is indeed a testament to all those who posted over at ESPN in the old forum, that so many made the trip. We had a good thing there until they finally fucked it up, and hopefully it will continue here.

3. It would be nice if we merged/assimilated with the people already here, but if not, then it's especially nice of them to set up this area for us.

I think the assimilation is well under way. I see a number of mules and ESPN refugees starting threads and joining in on discussions in the open forum, in the clubhouse and other forums. In fact, I’d guess there are more ESPN posts in those other forums than the mule forum. I don’t see the mule forum as such a bad thing. I think merkin made the right decision in response to many of the regulars requests for a slower assimilation, and I can understand how the regular posters felt a bit overwhelmed by a herd of thundering jackasses descending upon there forum. I think everyone here especially merkin has encouraged everyone to post wherever they want. The mule forum is merely a place the regulars already here to can get used to us, and the old board members could check in. I’d like to see some historical threads about the old board here, to let some of the regulars here know a little bit about where we came from. Merkin has done this with this board, and I think we could share some stories about Alou’s daughter, the morning show, the core wars, and so much else. I’ll kick things off with an oldie but a goodie, but everyone please participate in all of the forums if the mood strikes you. And hopefully many of the regulars will post in the mule forum.

4. Fack Khalil Greene.

That goes without saying. !@#$ little punk ass !@#$ that he is.

I think we should open the discussion again early next week. The migration looks like it has slowed to a trickle, and the number of posts have slowed as well. We have also had over a week of new people and i think people are getting more comfortable. I personally would vote to merge the two OT forums, but of course I will abide by the decisions of the members at large... old and new alike....

The most important thing about the board is the people. The colors and format are basically negotiable (except no Blue). If the will of the posters is to go with a more basic "work stealth friendly" board, I am open to it. My primary concern is this is a healthy happy and well adjust board, and it doesnt even matter to me that most of you are male nurses.....

edit cause i screwed up the quote tags
