URLs in posts


I noticed that the few URLs I have seen in posts are not active. In other words you can't click on them, have to cut and paste them into the address bar.

Is this because folks are not using the insert link tool or is it always that way?

Good Question...

Yes, if you are not using the "insert link" button, then it will not be an active link.

You can also type in [*url][sign in to see URL][/url] but remove the star


Now checking "Automatically convert http:// links" should take care of this, but often does not.
But Notice if you go to edit the same post, the link will suddenly become active.
 This seems to be a bug in the system.

Bottom line

If you want to post an active link

1) Use the "insert link" Button
2) Use [*url][sign in to see URL][/url] but remove the star

I feel half way guilty of this, I accidently put the img brackets instead of the url brackets in one thread.
