Anyone play MLB 06: THE SHOW?

Hi, I wanna know if anyone here plays this game? Do you?

I play, and I play a lot. I bought this game back on March, just before the season started.
I have played every game in my season as the Giants, and I finished the season with 127 wins!! haha
I know, I tried everything to make it harder!! It is already on the hardest level, and I played a lot with the slide settings, but I couldn't make the CPU on a good challenging level...
Bonds is a beast... He hit .536 with 89 HRs for me... heck, Morris won 22 games and lost just 1!!

I was pissed off when I was able to get Hoffman + Chris Young for BENITEZ + Correia + a fake Minor Leaguer... I don't like to make trades like that, in fact, I never make trades like that, because it is always way too easy in video games, but I could not watch Benitez coming in, and having to pitch with him...

It would have been a horrible trade for me, if Chris Young was not involved (I will explain it why later)! Benitez closed 34 games of 36 for the Padres and had a stellar 1.65 ERA for them!
BTW, Hoffman blew 4 games to me, closed 28, and had an ERA of 4.35. And every game he came in to close seemed like Benitez' SVs this year, for the "real life Giants". He always gave up doubles and singles and HRs...
Damn, the CPU loves that change up! I can not throw it! So I have to go with the fastball and curve... and a 89mph fastball won't do any good! If I leave the changeup in the zone they would hit it. If I threw it off the strike zone, they would just look at it, and walk.

But, I'm glad I had Tyler Walker!! He was amazing!! He closed 6 games out of 6! And ended up the season with a 1.42 ERA!! He is a great pitcher, he will be my closer for the next years! He has a great fastball a great changeup and a good curve also.

But so was Taschner, who had an ERA of 2.80. And so was Munter, who was called up to the bigs in mid-July because of the injury of Lowry (broken left arm, 2 months out, fortunately he came back just before the playoffs).

And that's why Chris Young was so big in that TRADE! He was a Long Reliever when Lowry was pitching, but then he turned into my 4th SP, and did great. 14-4, 3.75 ERA!
I would have to go with Jeff Fassero (who I sent to AA level, but don't ask me how! haha) if I could not pull that trade.
BTW, he pitched great down there! 0.49 ERA, 10-0 hahahaha, the old fat guy owning the kids!

Now I'm in the playoffs, and I'm already in the NLCS, against the Astros. I beat the Phillies, 3-0 in the NLDS. Guess I'm going to win the WS?
Now, to make things more difficult and more tense, I have the contact and power slides almost at 0 for me, and increased a lot the CPUs slides. It's gonna be tough...

You want me to keep updating this thread until the WS? emoticon

you know..someone else i know has a game for PS and if the season was tanking big time we were thinking of going over to watch him play and watch the giants win..that way we'd at least see the world series with the giants in it.

i think someone else on here plays video games..jaq does..not sure if he has this or not..

this is a good way to forget about the game..i am hooked on my cell phone game..

Hamels started toward the dugout after what he thought was a strike. Lincecum didn't get the call & buzzed ump Dana DeMuth w. a fastball that slammed off the backstop & then froze Hamels w. another 3rd strike. 4/28/10 Timmy the ump killer.

hahaha I do this all the time, after the Giants fail to score a runner from 3B with less then 2 outs in real life. Or when they can't hold a lead late in the game...

I just go and beat someone, preferably the Dodgers, to make me happier.

BTW, what game do you have in your cellphone? I have C2S Baseball, or anything like that, but it doesn't play well on it (I have that NOKIA 6265). I downloaded a lot of baseball games, but none work well on 6265.

Damn! Put the game as hard as it could get!!
Lost the first game to the Astros, 5 to 4. Schmidt pitched well enough to keep us in the game, but Munter gave up 2 runs to make it 5 to 3 for the Astros in the 7th. So it stayed like that until the 9th. And I got a run there, but could not get the runner from 2B with 1 OUT. Niekro K'ed and so did Durham to end the game.

Then Chris Young was pitching for me on the 2nd game. Great performance by the big man. 6 Ks, 1 ER over 7.0 IP.
Unfortunately I could not get any more then 1 run, which was unearned.
Hoffman pitched a scoreless 9th for me.
Pedro Feliz K'ed to leadoff the 9th. Then Bonds followed with a 1-out Triple!
Then they Intentionally walked Mo Alou, and with Niekro batting, a WALK OFF WILD PITCH!!

Giants win to tie the series at 1.
BTW the Yankees and the Mariners are fighting each other in the ALCS.
Yankees is the Wild Card team. It is tied at 1 that series also.

Re: Anyone play MLB 06: THE SHOW?

hahaha
Ramson... please don't say his name here... it brings back memories of that horrid game at LA in 2004... and with Finley in the Giants... damn!!!

BTW, the Giants went to Houston, Texas and won the 3rd game, to take the lead on the series.

Game 4:

It was Hennessey (22-game winner on the season) pitching for the Giants.
The Giants started well. Winn leadoff walk. Vizquel bunt single. 2 on, 0 out.

Pedro Feliz AB. He hit into 2 DPs on the 3rd game. I was saying, please, K, pop up the ball, but don't hit into the ground.
1-2, fastball down and in... GROUND BALL! DOUBLE PLAY!
But Bonds came through with an RBI Double to take the lead early in the game.
We scored another run in the 2nd, but Hennessey also gave up 1 run in the bottom.

The Giants went on to score on the 5th, with a Bases Clearing, 2 OUT Double by MIKE MATHENY!!! And we never lost the lead.

Hennessey only lasted 5 2/3, but Lowry came in and pitched well enough to earn the SV (his 2nd in the playoffs, 3.0+ IPs Save).

Matheny was the player of the game: 4 for 5, HR, Double, Single, Single, 5 RBIs.

Final Score: 10 to 5, Giants.
Now we gonna play 1 more game at Houston.
If the Giants win, we are going to the WS!
If we lose, we are coming back to SF, to try and win at home!

BTW, Series tied at the AL. 2-2.
