Seriously, do you have a link? I would be bummed to lose Mike (Singletary).

Arthur Blank likes him but that team is going through big changes in the front office, so it might be a collective effort.
Another coaching opening that seems like a lock is Miami. Parcells will bring his own guy in there.

Patrick Willis is bona fide.
20 tackles and 2 sacks today in BY's final homer. Gamer.

San Francisco 49ers Thread
49ers finish 5-11 after losing 20-7 to Cleveland.
Browns QB Derek Anderson had to sit a couple series after injuring his throwing hand, so Cleveland fans got to see their first glimpse of the future in Brady Quinn, who will likely be the starting QB next year.

San Francisco 49ers Thread
Some musings I've heard on the 49ers front office/coaching:
- Expect Mike Nolan to return for his 4th season as head coach of the 49ers. However, his front office role will likely be reduced. Scot McCloughan will switch roles, from VP of Football Operations to GM. The 49ers will search for McCloughan's replacement.
- Jim Hostler will likely be fired this week as the offensive coordinator. Bringing in Ted Tollner as an "offensive assistant" in the middle of the season made it certain imo. Expect them to keep Tollner around, either as a coordinator or QB coach, meaning QB coach Frank Cignetti could also get the axe.
- Mike Singletary wants the job in Atlanta and he's supposedly leading the pack. A decent interview with them would make this a lock.
Onto players:
- Expect the team to announce that there will be a QB battle between Shaun Hill and Alex Smith during training camp. Hill is a free agent but early indications are that the team and Hill really want to get started on talks.
- Jonas Jennings is not a lock to come back to SF. The team seems to want to move Staley to LT during the spring, barring picking up an elite LT via FA or draft. They could keep Jennings and move him to RT but its not clear whether Jennings would like that very much. The 49ers could look into an OT in FA, as Jennings' future is unclear and Kwame Harris will be gone. The 49ers like Snyder as a backup at both tackle spots. Larry Allen is mulling retirement, so expect an announcement soon on his future. If he does continue to play, he'd like to come back to the 49ers. Justin Smiley has lost his role on the lineup and is as good as gone, he likely won't accept backing up Allen and Baas.
- Defensively, look for DL and OLB to be the main focus of the 49ers in the offseason. Franklin(NT) and Banta-Cain(OLB) were pretty much flops, so those 2 positions could be up in the air. The 49ers could address CB as well. They like Spencer as a nickel back but if they think an upgrade over Walt Harris is out there and within their price range, they could make that move.
I've got nothing on the WR situation but it wouldn't shock me to see Jackson not being back. They'll likely continue to start Arnaz Battle, although his season wasn't as good as his previous 2.
2008 schedule is complete, dates and times released in March:
Home: Rest of NFC West, Patriots, Jets, Eagles, Redskins and Lions.
Away: Rest of NFC West, Bills, Dolphins, Cowboys, Giants and Saints.

Nolan, York, and McCloughan are meeting with the assistant coaches.
Could Nolan be retained but most of the offensive assistants will go? Something similar to that happened in Cleveland last year.

It may be hard to get new coordinators if they feel the Coach may be on his way out.
