Re: World Cup

Couple of great games today between Saudi Arabia/Tunisia and Germany/Poland.

Tunisia tied the game 2-2 in the 93rd minute, 3 minutes into stoppage time and the game ended a few seconds after it.

Germany and Poland lived up to the billing, Germany scored the games only goal in the 91st minute, a couple minutes left until a 0-0 tie. Must be heartbreak in Poland, this is a big rivalry especially with the fans.

Spain/Ukraine was a blowout and I didn't watch it because I was sleeping.

I'm going to wake up extra early to see Ecuador/Costa Rica tomorrow because I'm half Ecuadorian. I've got my alarm set for 5:30 AM. =D

emoticon emoticon emoticon Ecuador won 3-0

Costa Rica was really dominated in this game. Ecuador is not flashy but they are fundamentally sound and well coached. Germany/Ecuador will play for first place in the group. Should be a great game now that Germany has Ballack back.

The other game, England/T&T, was a bit entertaining before England took over for the 2-0 win. England had some good chances to score in the first half but couldn't put it in. I really think this game changed when Lennon and Rooney entered the game.Lennon brought more of a speed game and Rooney is not only a great, young, talented player but a crowd favorite as well. T&T did what they could with what they have, they put in 100%. I applaud them for hanging in there with one of the better teams in the tourney for 75 minutes or so.

Paraguay/Sweden will be a good game.

despite USA soccer team's slumping in this WC. they are really good team. it's not lip service. that's 100% fact. your country team is very strong.

before 10-12years, all soccer fans had never expected to them.(likes South Korea) BUT, USA soccer makes considerable improvement, rapidly.(what a superfast !) team USA had proved it in 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup.

especially, Freddy Adu is Phenom. he's the future of the US soccer. i like him. emoticon

Re: World Cup

How surprising, another classic Argentina/Germany showdown! Do they all go into penalty kicks?!

I really thought Argentina started to lose control of the game when those subs were made. I know Abiandizerri(SP?)leaving the game at goalkeeper messed with their plans but you still have 2 subs to make. With one of those subs, you have to put in Messi or Saviola. Jose Pekerman didn't, he instead went with a conservative, un-Argentina like style when he went with Cruz for Riquelme. Don't get me wrong, Cruz is good but Argentina needed to play their style to win this game. I felt like Pekerman coached to not lose the game, and like in all sports, it comes back and really bites.

Germany showed why they could be champs. They have the heart of one. This team didn't back down, they kept pushing and pushing. Klose has to be one of the most underrated strikers on Earth. He makes some goals look easy. I think Klinsmann would like nice coaching on the U.S. sideline in 2010. His attacking style and our athleticism are such a perfect match.
