Re:
Hi everyone,
My name is Parker Perry and I am the new San Francisco Giant lead contributor over at rantsports.com.
To be honest with you I am not a Giants fan, I am a Cincinnati Reds fan, but I will be covering the team from afar for the site.
I hope to get different opinions of the team from this board, because I want to cover the team as best as possible.
I have been a long time reader of the board (and many other boards--I'm an MLB freak), and this is one of the better MLB boards on the internet.
Thanks for having me.

Hey Guys,
My name's Jowy and I've been a Giants Fan since I was 6. I'm only 18 now though. I've always wanted to be a regular member of a Giants forum. I used to join in on conversations when I was younger, mostly the Pick 4 hits game that one Royals lady fan brought over. I always felt like I'd say something stupid and piss off the regulars, but now I feel like I'm a bit more knowledgeable. Hopefully, I'll be able to contribute. Wooo Giants!

Welcome to the board Jowy.
(cool name, very unique)
I see that you also just reappeared on the MLB Board.
I remember the P4 hits game back when it was on the MLB board, but don't remember you. What was your handle back then?

Hi all! I'm Mal and I've been a Giants fan since I moved at age 16. I am happy to have found a community where I can listen in and add to the ongoing discussion about our team, as well as everything baseball!

giants 2012
Hey i am skygrl
here is how i feel
GIANTS 2012
pleasantly inebriated with a game- adjusted head
i assume i will be going to bed
but a noise gets me wondering what could be so encumbering
GIANTS GIANTS GIANTS
I GUESS i should adjust my head adjust adjust adjust my head
so sad my bad adjust my head
GIANTS GIANTS GIANTS
GIANTS 2012
the noise comes more frequently
like baseball series games
GIANTS GAMES
I can't help feeling like a child child child
look an out field hit gone wild wild wild
GO GIANTS GO GIANTS GO GIANTS
I guess i should adjust my head head head
like the fly ball gone instead instead
like the winning run and adjusted head
now i go to bed bed bed
dreaming of fly balls, slider catches and home runs
WE'RE IN THE PLAY OFFS
WE will be #ONE
GO GIANTS

Re: Introduce yourself to other members
Hello. Grew up (and still live) in Orange County as a huge, huge Giants fan -- the only team in sports that I truly love and care about.
My great-uncle was a Giants scout (had four players make it to the majors; Giants traded away all four), so I've been rooting for this team as long as I can remember. Memory for baseball goes back to about '71-'72.
I've seen them mostly at Dodger Stadium, didn't get to Candlestick until I was 20 (it was like visiting Notre Dame or Lourdes), but I lived in the Bay Area for four years about a decade ago and went to about 35 games every year.
I was part of the overwhelmingly pro-Giants crowd when we clinched the West in '87 at Jack Murphy in San Diego, was at Dodger Stadium when we clinched in '89 (after a loss; was in the parking lot afterward when the Reds -- or was it the Braves? -- lost to clinch it), was at the clinching win over the Cubs in '89, at Games 2 and 3 in '89 (both game 3's; was on one of the huge escalators to the top when the earthquake hit), was there when Barry hit No. 71 (and 72), when we clinched vs. the Cardinals in 2002 and at Games 1 and 6 (heartbroken) in Anaheim.
I didn't get to a playoff game two years ago, and was on an airplane (business) when we won the series. Had to work the day of the parade. But this year, I'll be there!
Driving up to SF in the morning for Games 1 and 2.
Favorite Giants:
1. Willie Mays
2. Garry Maddox
3. Robby Thompson
4. J.T. Snow
5. Matt Williams
6. Will Clark
7. Rich Aurilia
8. Kirk Rueter
Favorite current Giants:
1. Buster Posey
2. Matt Cain
3. Pablo Sandoval
4. Timmy Lincecum
5. Everybody!
My theory on baseball is this: The Giants and Dodgers represent the struggle between good and evil in the universe, and it is the only battle that truly matters. Sometimes evil prevails (but not since '88!). Everybody else is playing just to fill out the schedule.
That said, let's make it two in three years!
GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Introduce yourself to other members
New here, old everywhere else.
I know a little bit about baseball and a lot about the Giants. The last 50 years haven't been a complete waste of time.
My favorite Giant is probably Darrell Evans, my least favorite was Bobby Murcer. Although according to him, he was never a Giant, so I guess the feeling was mutual. I've always had a weakness for light hitting second basemen, so Joe Strain is known to me.
I've heard about this place. Hopefully you guys can help an old chimp get a little more knowledgable. I'll try to keep up.
