Re: UMPIRES WHO YOU HATE!
There are many, many examples, but the one that comes to mind right now is Jerry Crawford. Wasn't he the one umping the game this year and his strike zone was so clearly bad. And when Posey tried talking to him, he immediately got in Buster's face.

Re:
bruce dreckman you're on the list!
you had an inconsistent strike zone that jon miller couldn't figure out!
--- Hamels started toward the dugout after what he thought was a strike. Lincecum didn't get the call & buzzed ump Dana DeMuth w. a fastball that slammed off the backstop & then froze Hamels w. another 3rd strike. 4/28/10 Timmy the ump killer.

Re: UMPIRES WHO YOU HATE!
Has Balkin Bob Davidson been mentioned yet? I remember a game from late in the 2007 season when he tossed the Reds leadoff guy on a bad call.

Click on 400k for the Giants Reds game. MLB.TV Games from 2007 don't require you to login for some reason, so anyone can access it. Watch from 13:30 to about 17:30, it's VERY comical.

Re:
I'll chime in for Joe West and Angel Hernandez, who are the two biggest boofs in the universe of umpires. I am confident that I could do a better job right now then they are doing in managing games and in getting the calls right.
West getting in the way of Francona is an infamnia, and he should sleep with the fishes for that.
The balk call on Wakefield was the correct call, IMO, though, the idiot announcers had no clue as to why it was right. Arguing a balk call is grounds for ejection, but a reasonable umpire would have explained that one, and then ejected the manager, rather than thumbing Francona like that asshat Hernanzez did.
Something like: UMP: "I'll you why, but I have to toss you, so let's give 'em something good to cheer about."
MANAGER: "Fine."
UMP: "Your pitcher did not step directly to the base when he faked the throw to third. It was pretty obvious to me."
MANAGER: "I didn't see it that way."
UMP: "I know, but I did, and (EJECTS WITH FLOURISH) ... lets get into it and give the fans something."
MANAGER: "Let's go."
--- "From 1955 to my retirement, the best all-around player in the American League was Al Kaline." Mickey Mantle.
