Re: Teh Music Thread
Got my ass kicked by this guy last night.
A combination of Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher and Robert Johnson.
That a three course meal for $45. Not a bad night.

Sardinas is fine (seen him several times over the last 10 years), but he is NOT a combination of the 3 you mentioned. Jesus...Robert Johnson & Sardinas in the same sentence?

So I know I am the local PJ honk, but I just made my first "cover to cover" listen of Backspacer. It's been out for like a month now but I've been very busy lately and as a fan wanted to buy the actual CD to take in all of the packaging, artwork, and just have it for my physical collection. Also with the music so accessible on youtube I just kept putting it off. Anyway for people who think music is more than something to just shake your head to, there were three songs that just blew me away, Just Breath, Unthought Known, and The End. The End in particular is an incredibly effective expression of sentiments that would be too familiar to someone who has lost a love to illness, particularly Cancer. There's a lot of straight rockers on the album as well, but those three songs are transcendent and (before the test of time) I would put them on the top shelf of the PJ catalogue. Front to back, solid effort sharper lyrics than one might be used to from EV, nice introduction of horns on a few of the pieces. That's my first reaction.

Hey Fresh - Did you catch Pearl Jam on Austin City Limits Saturday evening?
Great show.
