Aren't you a gamer? Shouldn't you be buying the expensive seats, like the GIants commerical says? After all your moral character is defined by the amount you spend on your season tickets.

WORD. I swear to facking god I'm not a fairweather fan, but at least when Bonds was around (or threatening to come back from injury) there was a real, palpable reason to watch. I always felt like we could pull it out. But now...? It's going to be like those day games after night games when Bonds was missing. All season.

I am a gamer, but this season is really going to be a test.... especially if they play the Vets at the expense of some of the younger kids

But what about the dirty uniforms and blood stains! Sac bunts and stolen bases! Buy into the propaganda, damn it, or you're not a real fan!
And by "buy" I mean literally purchase the program. Can't tell the gamers without your program!

I never watched the TEAM because of one guy - I was never a "star whore".
And if we are "62 Mets bad", then we'll get a #1 draft pick in 2009. {shrugs}
--- Do not suggest trading for somebody for only two years (unless the Giants dump a crappy contract)

I am not a star whore either. I just have a feeling that we are going to be seing the oldies like durham, Aurilia, Roberts, a lot at the expense of some of the younger guys. That's what pisses me off most. If they do that, we should have brought Bonds back for one more year. One thing about Barry is his presence took the pressure off his teamates cause the press always flocked to him. This year if things don't go well these guys are going to have to deal with the heat. I am not expecting a miracle with this bunch. I just want the kids to play and for them to at least be competetive.

Re: Hold off on the Crede rumors
Awesome.
(And instantly poached, and reposted with due credit to you for your find.)
Thanks for giving me a laugh. The childlike looking MS Paint work utilized in creating that chart is what makes it great.
And of course, the "3 year old's" logic is completely sound.

Re: Hold off on the Crede rumors
I've seen horrors... horrors that you've seen. But you have no right to call me a bad GM. You have a right to fire me. You have a right to do that... but you have no right to judge me. It's impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what horror means. Horror. Horror has a face... and you must make a friend of horror. Horror and moral terror are your friends. If they are not then they are enemies to be feared. They are truly enemies. I remember 2007. Spring Training. Seems a thousand centuries ago. We went into camp to evaluate the children. We left the camp after we had evaluated the children for teh roster, and this old man came running after us and he was crying. He couldn't see. We went back there and they had torn every rotator cuff and hamstring. There they were in a pile. A pile of little shoulder parts and tendons. And I remember... I... I... I cried. I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. The genius. The will to be overpaid and blindly ushered to the front of the post-game buffet line. The will to shun even a rudimentary muscle stretching exercise. The refusal to take even a high outside pitch. Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure. I watched a snail crawl along the first base line wearing the number 1. That's my dream. That's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of the first base... line... and being beaten to the bag by David Wells. Teh horror....teh horror....
