Di Maria was a big time player for the U-20 Argentina team that won the World Cup and Rodriguez is one of the best players on the Uruguay national team.

Good to see Adu getting some time and producing. Awesome.

First 2 games for U.S. men's national team in 08:

January 19 vs Sweden at Home Depot Center in Carson
February 6 vs Mexico at Reliant Stadium in Houston

I've also heard rumors that Real Madrid wants Jozy Altidore. An American on one of the biggest clubs in the world would be interesting.

Pretty big bombshell for U.S. soccer:

Real Madrid officials are in New York City to meet with the Red Bulls about Jozy Altidore, per Fox Sports. I didn't know how serious their interest was but it looks to be very serious. I have mixed feelings on the move. If they think he can compete for a spot on the first team, that would be awesome. However, I would feel more comfortable if he moved to a smaller yet middle tier type club in Spain(Atletico Madrid would be fine, they have shown interest in the past) or one of the big clubs in Portugal or Netherlands(ex. Freddy Adu to Benfica).

They'll probably send him to Real Madrid Castilla and eventually (crossing fingers) he'll make it to the Bernabeu.

Forgot about their development team Castilla, I think they are 3 or 4 divisions lower than La Liga.

Looks like Altidore and Michael Parkhurst(reportedly Fulham) to Europe for right now.

Eddie Johnson has come close a couple times but I think he will want to move also.

Re: World Soccer Thread

Adu scores against Academica! Should be noted it was a rookie goalkeeper but it came from a nice play from Freddy and Cardozo. It's at the end of these highlights

edit: Fixed the link.

Adu seems to be really finding his form with Benfica.
