Not a bad signing really, I believe they signed Isaiah Kacyvenski as well after a voluntary workout.

Lane Kiffin is apparently going back to Josh McCown, so its Daunte Culpepper to the bench. Prediction on this game tomorrow, along with SF/ATL.

Week 9 Prediction time:
Oakland 17, Houston 9
This will be a good defensive battle. Houston has NFL DROY candidate Amobi Okoye to go along with the talented Mario Williams and last year DROY Demeco Ryans. Besides those guys, there isn't much there. I like Oakland's chances better because their back 7 has shown capabilities of making some plays, especially Morrison and Howard. Houston is still having struggles along the OL, so this could be a breakout game for guys like Sapp and Burgess. Josh McCown returns as QB for Oakland, so that could keep Houston in it.

Week 10 prediction time:
Chicago 21, Oakland 10
A matchup of 2 disappointing defenses(According to FO, CHI 18th, OAK 24th) with inconsistent to bad QB play. The reasons I think Chicago will win is McCown is the Raiders QB, the Raiders have the worst run defense in the league and its not even close, Chicago's run defense is above average, and I don't think Chicago is this bad overall. Devin Hester will return back a punt for a TD early in the 4th to put it away. If Cedric Benson doesn't average 4 yards a carry, then he should be benched.

Chicago 17, Oakland 6
Positives: Shane Lechler was his usual self. The special teams coverage on Hester was, for the most part, excellent. Oakland had over 100 yards rushing as Fargas had a couple solid runs. The defense did its part to keep the offense in the game, including a secondary that started 2 reserve CB. The run defense held Benson to 2.9 yards per carry on nearly 30 carries. Sebastain Janikowski made both FG attempts.
Negatives: Josh McCown only completed 1 pass in the 2nd half and exposed the football on the fumble that put the nail in the coffin. He also had an interception. While Chris Carr played well in his first start of the season, he got beat badly on the GW TD thrown by Rex Grossman. They still struggled to run the football at certain points, leading to 3.5 YPC for the game.
Next Game: 10:00 am PT @ Minnesota(CBS). Don't expect JaMarcus Russell.

Re: Oakland Raiders Thread
I read that Kiffin was quoted as saying J Russel is likely to be getting some playing time next game.
He'll probably be the starting QB by week 13-14 im guessing.
This team is horrific.

December 2 at home against Denver has been my target date for him to start since about May.

Good god...a 260 pound QB...was 270 a month ago.
Watching the game today they said the raiders have 15 plays set aside just for him in case he needs to come in. Look for him to get some playing time next week should dullpepper flop early.

I think they'll stick with December 2. He needs all the reps he can get.
I didn't see the game yesterday but 5 turnovers caused and still lose? Wow.
