The ACROSSTIC Revolution

I've been on here a while and never really looked at this much. Being that I am going to be a journalist anything that involves blogging is frowned upon for some reason so this is more of a profile for me.

Here is a little about me:

College Student in his 4th year (Still a Junior because of JC transfer credit etc.)

Age: 21 (enjoying it...I love to have a beer...but never to get drunk...I just like having a beer when I am trying to relax after a tough day.

Location: Abilene, Texas
Home: Rocklin, Calif.
School: Abilene Christian University
Major: Broadcast Journalism

I am in love with the girl of my dreams. We are going to get Married in a couple years...probably 2 summers from this one because we want a big wedding and to wait until we graduate we have already been dating for 3 years.

I have been a Giants fan since birth. My dad is a Giants fan and he raised me that way...also a huge Raiders Fan. Also like the Kings and am trying to get more into the Sharks as well.

In 2001/2002...The Raiders lost the SB, Giants lost the WS and the Kings lost (or were robbed) the Western Conference Finals (aka the real finals at the time).

It was a rough time to be a fan of my teams.

I am a firm believer in what is known as a hardcore fan for life. I'd love to say I converted people to my teams or that converted fans are real fans but it just isn't the same as a lifelong fan...and a true diehard something goes deep down when you grow up with the your team.

Last year I bought the complete 1987 fleer baseball card set for like $20. I did it because I knew it had Barry's rookie in it. I am not a baseball card guy or anything but I wanted the card as a keepsake because I always wanted a Mays Rookie when I was like 5. I think the card would probably grade out at like a 9 and would be worth far more then the $20 I spent on the set...just to ease my mind about buying it it is good to know it was well worth it.

I play guitar a little but really suck. I have no musical talent.

It is my dream that someday I will be a Giants, Raiders, or Kings broadcaster or be able to be involved journalisticly with them in some way. In High School Jerry Robinson was signing autographs at my local supermarket (He was a Raider) and asking for donations...it was early and no one was around him. I talked to him and gave him everything I had left...like $3 when he wanted $5 and he gave me a picture with, "Chris- never give up on your dreams" I believe in myself.

I just started really working towards my major and have done some pretty cool stuff this year.

If you want a copy of my Magazine...let me know. There are some good pictures from Merkin in there. There is alot of Bonds because the picture availabilty was high access and the AP or Getty images in the correct quality was difficult to come by, so I ended up finded a ton of Barry...it just happened that way.

I also made a music video which I could also send to you if you wanted to check it out. It is put to Music by the SF native Joe Satriani. The music was inspired by 9/11 so I tried to portray that feeling.

I will be sports writing this year for our college newspaper. I am nervous but excited to do it. I am a broadcast major but I think being able to write will give me a huge advantage later on.

That is it for right now.

God Bless
